FAZ MTN Super league week five: Nkana drop points as Nchanga,Kabwe,Nkwazi conjure wins

The League Table is shaping up as of week five and we have experienced yet another week with interesting results being registered in week five.

WINNERS

NCHANGA RANGERS, KABWE WARRIORS, NKWAZI AND GREEN EAGLES

The three points proved to be very vital in week five for the above teams and the implications is positive and all smiles as they wait for week six.,

NCHANGA RANGERS

Nchanga Rangers have now three wins in five and beating GBFC on Saturday is another big statement that they are a different side from the side that was fighting relegation last season. There is a motivation among the players that they are doing this for the late Fighton Simukonda and the family.

The win saw Nchanga jump to second on the table three points behind the league leaders Nkana. Nchanga Rangers should work on the Goal difference which remains zero after scoring five and conceded five.

KABWE WARRIORS

Reports from Kabwe suggest that the team did play well but were helped by a blunt Mufulira Wanderers who could not just find the perfect play as expected by the travelling team and fans. But that won’t matter for Kabwe Warriors as they get the first win of the season coupled by the two draws with a game in hand and they end week five on ninth position. It was a great result for Kabwe Warriors which without a doubt will give them so much confidence because by name Mufulira Wanderers is a giant.

It was gain Josephat Kasusu the rejected boy who made sure Mighty Mufulira Wanderers would go back to Mufulira without anything. That’s the second goal Kasusu us scoring for Kabwe Warriors after his loan move from Nkana.

GREEN EAGLES

Needed serious motivation to win this encounter as they had lost three games before this encounter and it did work out with Spencer scoring the only goal of the game to get the whole needed three points. With that win Green Eagles moved out of the relegation zone and go 13th on the log, a relief that gripped Choma town.

NKWAZI

Nkwazi are making a good name of themselves after struggling to hit the season running. The story of two losses in the first four games is slowly being forgotten after beating Lumwana in mid-week, Nkwazi beat NAPSA 2-0 at Independence Stadium in week five, thanks to the now top goal scorer Steward Chikandiwa who scored a beauty from a corner kick, the first am seeing in a very long time elsewhere in the world.

That was a beauty and it just shows that the Elijah Chikwanda effect is coming back to the tem and Nkwazi go second on the log.

POWER DYNAMOS

When all seemed dark for Tenant Chilumba for Power, I thought it was not the right time to let him go and he did get a win and according to the people that watched the game, again Power Dynamos missed so many chances and that won’t matter, it is a win that saves TC for now and puts Power Dynamos back in the race for the title.

The Martin Phiri goal means Power Dynamos finish the week seventh with a game in hand and could easily go second should they count three points on the game in hand, but that’s a discussion for another day. But does this mean only ultimatum will do for TC?We wait and see.

BEST TEAM OF WEEK FOUR

My best team of the week was Kabwe Warriors, beating Mufulira Wanderers with all those passionate supporters who will always celebrate even when they are down and have scored is not easy. But then scoring three goals makes people start realizing that Kabwe Warriors is here to stay. They are back. It is one of the worst defeats that Mufulira Wanderers have in two seasons and hence that hurts and for Kabwe Warriors it is a good statement to the rest.
Well DONE KABWE WARRIORS.

DRAWS

Mufulira Blackpool Vs Nakambala

Two draws was registered in Mufulira when Mufulira Blackpool hosted Nakambala Leopards for the first time in Mufulira and the two teams could not find the back of the net. These are points that should be turned into three points if they are survive relegation from this season that is already looking so competitive.

Lusaka Tigers Vs Nkana

Nkana have finally dropped points for the first time this season and it’s at Tigers who are proving serious menaces to teams here. It will be a great point for Lusaka Tigers but lost two points of Nkana who thought they had wrapped it up. Lusaka Tigers deserve the point for the Great Spirit they exhibited throughout the game.

Walter scored but on the wrong side for Lusaka Tigers.

MOST IMPROVED
Lusaka Tigers for the first time derail that progress mounted by Nkana by grabbing a late point and that means Tigers end the week third on the table. It’s good for Tigers.

LOSSES
MUFULIRA WANDERERS, LUMWANA RADIANTS, RED ARROWS, GREEN BUFFALOES

Mufulira Wanderers lose for the first time this season but then they have only won once at home to Nkwazi. The other three have been draws. This is not panning out so well for Wanderers whose objective is to finish in the top four of the league. So far unless changes are made it doesn’t look like Mufulira Wanderers are ready to finish in the top four. They are again very predictable and teams above them seem to be serious in doing what is best for better positions.

GREEN BUFFALOES

I thought GBFC will be a serious contender for the title but the results coming are showing something different and may just fail to get that top slot. A loss at the hands of Nchanga Rangers after a draw against Lusaka Tigers doesn’t show title credentials and that has to improve. This will be a tough season for such inconsistencies if at all we are to see our teams on top. Not good for this week.

RED ARROWS

Finish week five in the relegation zone with a loss in Kitwe against Power Dynamos. IS it another rough season for Red Arrows and its fans with reports that the team only had one shot in target? It’s not good for the 2004 League Champions whose fans have waited for long to replicate that season but it looks like it won’t come back soon.

LUMWANA RADIANTS

Lumwana Radiants again lost the second in few days away to Green Eagles and they now head back home hoping to have new fortunes in week six at home. Its not been a good week for Lumwana Radiants and now they know what the Super League is all about and the coaching team will have to re look at the team and see where they are lacking.

MOST DISAPPOINTING TEAM

Mufulira Wanderers after all the hype and conceding three against Kabwe Warriors doesn’t show good credentials something MANFRED CHABINGA should work on faster before Mufulira Wanderers also join RED ARROWS in the relegation Zone.
