The Football Association of Zambia has suspended all league matches following the outbreak of the COVID-19 until further notice.
The League was set to resume on 4th April, 2020 but the country’s governing body has decided not to go ahead with the matches. This comes shortly after the 2020 ABSA Cup quarterfinals were suspended after Zambia recorded its first two cases of the COVID-19.
The decision has been arrived at after wide consultation with various stakeholders to safeguard the interests of the players, fans and sponsors.
FAZ will continue to monitor the situation and ensure that they track pronouncements from the Ministry of Health and also the World Health Organization that have stipulated guidelines to combat the threat posed by the COVID-19.
Members will be informed in due course when the leagues can resume.
Meanwhile the football family is advised to adhere to the strict guidelines provided by the Ministry of Health and the WHO to ensure that they stay safe from the COVID-19.
