The Football Association Of Zambia (FAZ) says it has instituted investigations against individuals operating in Zambia as FIFA intermediaries without the knowledge of the Association.
FAZ General Secretary Ponga Liwewe in a media statement issued today revealed that the association is aware of certain Intermediaries who are exploiting players.
“The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) wishes to inform the football fraternity, and the nation as a whole that it has received, with dismay, information that certain individuals and entities are purportedly operating in Zambia as FIFA intermediaries without the necessary registration and approvals from the Association.
“The Association is further informed that the said persons and entities have engaged in player transfers without following laid down procedures; some to the extent of illegally demanding huge pay-outs from players’ incomes thereby threatening the survival and even careers of some players; among them members of the Zambia national soccer team,” Liwewe said.
FAZ has further advised that investigations have been instituted and once concluded; culprits shall be strongly dealt with in accordance with laid down procedures as well as reported to the relevant law enforcement agencies for further action.
