Seychelles FA President Elvis Chetty is one of the front runners for the upcoming FIFA Council member for Africa a position left vacant after the resignation of Kwesi Nyantakyi.
Mr.Chetty who is in his second term as Federation President has been hailed as a young astute reformist football mind with a legal background.He spoke to candidly to www.soka25east.com about his mission and vision if elected to the office as a CAF representative.
The man credited with organising Cosafa beach tournament,AFCON beach tournament has alluded to the fact that he is ready to help increase the investment in football development as a FIFA Council member by harnessing innovation to shape the future of the game
“I belive I have got what it takes to drive Africa’s agenda as a FIFA Council member as it assume greater control of its global operations in Africa. With your support, we will Raise Africa voice and feelings in the FIFA Family while enabling more people – men, women, girls and boys from all backgrounds – to play or participate in the game”Elvis Chetty said.
“My manifesto has outlined key issues as I intend to Assist all the African Football Association to develop their capacity and build strong institutions and leagues plus to Facilitate a deepening of the relationship between Africa and FIFA”he added.
“I want to help protect the integrity of the beautiful game while promoting the game across Africa as I share my experiences and competences”.
Elvis Chetty is a former vice-chair of the CAF Disciplinary committee,former member FIFA club World Cup organising committee,current member CAF AFCON committee and current judge of FIFA disputes.
