FIFA president Gianni Infantino will meet senior local football association leaders in Kampala on a two-day working visit to Uganda.
The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA ) said on Thursday Infantino will arrive in the capital on 25 February in a visit that has been termed as meeting scheduled to lay foundation for the development of the sport in the country.
Infantino, elected in February 2016, will be accompanied by other Fifa officials.
According to FUFA Communications Manager Ahmed Hussein,the Uganda football boss Moses Magongo met Infantino for talks in Doha this week and has confirmed the latest development.
“We are glad that the FIFA President Mr. Gianni Infantino will be our guest next week. It is good news for Ugandan football and a big sign that the future of the sport is becoming brighter and brighter each passing day. We believe the visit will bear fruits. The programme for the visit will be released at an appropriate time”,said Hussein.
The FIFA President visit is accordance to his development agenda where he has embarked on meeting the member associations around the globe to share ideas on football development projects.
