FIFA threatens to pull World Cup rights of Ethiopia Broadcasting Corporation

FIFA have threatened to Ethiopia Broadcssting Corporation (EBC) of permanent withdrawal of any FIFA rights and remedies after they were accused of illegal piracy of the FIFA World Cup 2022 competion currently ongoing in Qatar.

According to very reliable sources privy to the issue EBC had only acquired the media rights to 28 matches for the FIFA World Cup but the Ethiopian broadcsster had repeatedly and illegally pirated the broadcast signal from the large number of competition matches which it had not acquired a valid license therefore going against the terms and conditions in its media agreement with FIFA free-to-air license for the territoty .

Despite FIFA pointing out the issue of the illegal breach to EBC it is said that they continued the piracy operations of the said signal.

FIFA has threatened to exclude EBC from the FIFA Family of broadcasters such that the Ethiopian national broadcaster will nolonger be permitted to acquire commercial rights from FIFA directly or indirectly.

The Ethiopian  public have already been treated to an exciting spectacle so far with the World Cup already being home to major shock results.
