Senegal finished as winners of Group A at the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup with a goalless draw against hosts Poland in Lodz on Wednesday night.
The African side have shown grit in defense so far beating Tahiti 3-0 and Colombia 2-0 in their previous two fixtures to ensure they finish on seven points with no goals conceded.
Cheered on through out by the home crowd in Lodz, Poland never looked like breaching the Senegal defence that has yet to concede at this U-20 World Cup.
Poland goalkeeper Radowslaw Majecki denied Ousseynou Niang with a superb save from what was probably best chance of the entire match. In the end a draw mutually benefited both sides and the coaches were happy to settle for a point each.
Meanwhile, Colombia thrashed Tahiti 6-0 to finish second in the group on 6 points while Poland have four points and a good goal difference which ensures they finish as one of the top four third-place finishers the tournament.
