Kenya is the biggest gainer in the latest Coca Cola FIFA World ranking for the month of November released on Thursday, December 3. The Harambee Stars has moved a whopping 27 places to position 98 as they break into the top 100.

Stars beat highly ranked Cape Verde 1-0 in Nairobi before losing 2-0 on the return leg in Praia in the 2018 Russia World Cup Qualifiers in the month of November. The meteoric rise can therefore be attributed to the win.

Neighbors Uganda Cranes who knock out Togo 4-0 on aggregate to reach the group stage of the World Cup qualifiers is three steps shy of breaking into the top 60. The Coach Micho’s side is 62nd having moved five places in the latest release.

Also on the rise is Tanzania at position 132 from previous 135, Taifa Stars managed a 2-2 draw against Algeria before being whipped away 7-0 on the return leg in the World Cup qualifiers.

Walia Ibex has continued to sink, moving downwards six places to position 120, same to Burundi, Sudan and South Sudan who are down five, six and four places to positions, 112, 134 and 138 respectively.

Ivory Coast remains the best ranked team in Africa at position 19 followed by Algeria (28) and Ghana (33).
