According to the ex-LA Galaxy Orange County speedster, she is aching to see the Black Princesses players showcase the potential and wishes everyone an injury free tournament, goals and confidence.
Sherifatu, 21, scored a brace in the Black Princesses victory over Canada and Finland at the last edition of the U-20 Women’s World Cup, which has been the nation’s best display in the World Youth championship despite unable to progress to the next round.
Ghana finished the Group with 6 points levelled with North Korea and Canada, but was beaten by goal difference paving the way for the two nations to advance.
She was part of the Black Maidens squad that won bronze at the FIFA Women’s U-17 football Championship in Azerbaijan in 2012.
Sumaila in a tweet, said, “FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup is drawing closer and closer. I can’t wait to watch our Talented Black Princesses display their talent to the World. I wish them a successful tournament and injury free, more goals and confidence. No matter what anyone says, believe in yourselves. .”
Ghana have been paired in Group A of the global championship with, France, New Zealand and Netherlands.
They will play France on 5th August before facing Netherland and New Zealand on the 8th and 12th respectively.
