By Evans Oduor,
The final day of the East Africa Military Games, Wednesday August 26
promises fireworks as Ulinzi Stars takes on Uganda’s Simba in the
final football match which will determine the winner of this year’s
event. Uganda picked up their first win of the tournament on Sunday
morning with a 1-0 win over Rwanda, a result that puts Ulinzi squarely
back into title contention.
A win for either will see them crowned champions. Rwanda have already completed their match and are at seven points. Both Uganda and Kenya are on five each.
The Kenyans were crossing fingers for either a draw or a loss for Rwanda to revive their chances of retaining the title after a 0-0 draw with Tanzania on Friday.
Rwanda who are on seven points could win the tournament if Uganda and Kenya draw. The winner of the tie though will walk home with the title.
Kenya is seeking a record sixth title and the boys have promised to
bring their A game against Uganda on Wednesday.
