By Austin Oduor Otieno,
It is called by many fans allover as the Ugandan final; it is the matched talked match so far this season in Ugandan football.”The last time I heard of such a talk was in October 2011 when Harambee Stars played Cranes in Namboole denying them a chance to feature in the 2012 AFCON” said Bignash Maweje, a SC Villa fan.
By standards this will be a very interesting game considering it pits the top team against the second team with only two matches to go.
SC Villa will feel denied to go top after the Ugandan League Disciplinary Committee punished them by deducting 2 points from them. They however appealed to the decision. The Club commonly known as Saoongo or Big Cockerel will be hoping for a win to a point ahead of leaders Vipers, formerly SC Bunamwaya.
On the other side, Sports Club Villa who are 13 time League Champions and 7 time s Ugandan Cup champions are ready to get the vital win that will see them just a draw away from the league title. The club boasts of a record of winning 7 consecutive Championship titles and coach Ibrahim Kirya is aware of the task ahead of tomorrow’s titanic clash at the Nakivubo stadium. The Mityana Town based Club have had league decisions go against them.
On the other hand, Vipers SC, formerly known as Bunamwaya are currently on top of the league and just need to comfortably win the match to be crowned champions and will be at 66 points within no reach for second placed SC Villa. This is like a derby to them and Coach Edward Golola has already put his eyesight straight at the league crown. The travelling fans from Wakiso town will hopefully fill the Nakivubo Stadium.
One fan by the name Ahimbisibiwe Apollo on his social media platform facebook posted “The next game between Vipers and Villa is the game of the decade; I cannot remember the last time a game held so much meaning in Ugandan Football”
Meanwhile, Kampala Central Member of Parliament Hon Mohammed Nsereko has been quoted by Ugandan media has having bought 1000 ticket worth Ush 5 Million for his constituents in Kisenyi,Owino,Nakivubo,Old Kampala,Kikubi for the die war clash tomorrow at the Nakivubo Stadium. He is also the owner of SC Victoria University and was previously accused of hiring goons in the previous match between SC Villa and Kiira Young.
SC Villa must beat Vipers to regain the lead and hope Vipers falter in their last match. Villa’s last match is away at Brighter Stars.
Vipers were champions in 2010 and will win a second title with victory tomorrow
The match will be played at the Nakivubo Stadium and will be live on Azam TV
