Nkana Football Club beat Zesco United 3-2 on Sunday to record their first ever win over the Ndola based outfit. A Brace from Walter Bwalya and a goal from Simon was all the Kitwe giants needed to hand Zesco its 3rd defeat of the season.
Let’s look at the lessons this match taught us:
WALTER BWALYA IS A GOAL MACHINE
The last time a player reached the 20 goal mark in the local league was in 2009 when Zanaco’s Patrick Kabamba did so. The Nkana talisman has went into this game on 20 goals and added two to his tally with a 44th minute colly taken penalty and a classic 87th minute Header. Bwalya is not only good with goals but his positioning is just impeccable and so is his movement when on or offf the ball. Its quite clear the Nkana man will be inflicting pain on many defenders as long as he keeps playing the way he is doing at the moment.
NKANA DEFENCE NEEDS REINFOCEMENT
Winning a game is the priority of any team and its done by simply out-scoring your opponent. Former Manchester United coach Sir Alex Ferguson once said “a good strike force can win you a game but a good defense can win you a title”. The way the Nkana defence conceded the two headers from Idris Mbombo was disappointing looking at the names in that defense. Idris is naturally a beast in the air but the Nkana defense could have done better. The defense looked so shaky and panicked mostly when Zesco where attacking which is very sad looking at the fact that Nkana is headed foir Continental Football Should Zesco keep up their poor form.
ZESCO FANS ARE NOT HAPPY WITH TRIPLE C
Cletus Chota Chama got two successive yellow Cards in the 67th minute to earn himself a send off. When he was going back to the dressing room some fans decided to start throwing missiles at him to show their discontent which he also retaliated and threw one back. The fans are aggrieved that he has signed for an Egyptian out-fit and come january he will be leaving. You can’t blame the fans for being unhappy, it is cletus who is leaving but the missile throwing was out of line .
IDRIS MBOMBO A KING IN THE AIR
The former Kabwe Warriors Striker scored a brace . The two goals were both headed goals. He showed a lot of class when dispatching both goals and made Nkana defenders work when a high ball was floated in the 18 yard area.
JESSE JACKSON WERE iS HAVING A BAD PATCH
The 2015 Kenyan Premier League topscorer is stuck on 14 goals. He has not scored a goal oin his last four games and he does not look like himself. When the Season started he was on fire scoring a lot goals even four in a single game against Mufurila Blackpool. It might just be the number of games they have played and fatigue maybe creeping in. He needs to find his scoring boots and fast if he wants to have a shot at winning the Golden Boot as Walter Bwalya is not leaving anything to chance.
