Following numerous complaints by various football stakeholders on the level of officiating in the country, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) will on Friday morning hold a press briefing to announce drastic measures it has taken in an effort aimed at safeguarding the game.
The meeting will take place at FKF House, Kasarani and will be attended by the President Nick Mwendwa.
“The measures will include but are not limited to suspension of incompetent referees and the reconstitution of the Referees committee.” A statement from the federation emphasized.
Referees especially those in the Sportpesa Premier League have for long come under scrutiny over what some call dubious calls during league matches.
Some quarters have argued the blatant show of incompetence by a section of referees while on duty could be linked to the betting craze in Kenya, allegation yet to be fully probed.
