In a bid to restore honor and pride in the Kenyan Premier League, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) have made good their commitment to reign in on poor officiating by suspending errant officials.

There have been constant loud cries over the poor standards of refereeing in Kenya’s top league “Sportpesa Premier League”, with certain quarters linking the same to the gambling craze in the country.

Increased acts of hooliganism in the recent past especially in matches involving the big two, Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards have been partly blamed on referees questionable calls at critical moments, leading to fans expressing anger destructively.

The five to stand down for 90 days includes;

1. Oliver Ouma

2. Isarael Mpaima (FIFA Referee)

3. Godfrey Ndeva

4. Zacharia Ashira

5. Joshua Achila (Assistant FIFA Referee)

6. Dominic Wenda (Match Comm)

Affected matches are;

-In KPL match no. 141Tusker FC vs Chemelil Sugar the match official Oliver Ouma is suspended for a period of Ninety days (90 days).

-In KPL match no. 130 Ulinzi Stars FC vs Tusker FC the match official Israel Mpaima is suspended for a period of Ninety days (90 days)

-In KPL match no. 136 Gor Mahia FC vs Kakamega Homeboyz the match official Godfrey Ndeva is suspended for a period of Ninety days (90 days)

-In KPL match no. 138 Mathare United FC vs AFC Leopards the match official Zachariah Ashira is suspended for a period of Ninety days (90 days)

-In KPL match no. 138 Mathare United vs AFC Leopards the match official Joshua Achila is suspended for a period of Ninety days (90 days)

-In KPL match no. 134 Muhoroni Youth vs Sony the Match Commissioner Dominic Wenda is suspended for a period of Ninety days (90 days).
