A new Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president will be elected on October 17, an exercise that will be preceded by the county level elections on September 19, the FKF Electoral Board who published a fresh roadmap for the process announced on Tuesday.
The Sports Dispute Tribunal (SDT) has twice cancelled the elections for major irregularities – the composition of the Electoral Board, and the eligibility criteria of the electoral code.
Despite that, the board said World governing body, FIFA has given them a nod to embark on the process once more.
Amongst its revision of the eligibility criteria, Chairperson board Kentice Tikolo said that Presidential, Vice president, National Executive Committee as well as County aspirants ought to have been involved in football as a player, member or official for a minimum of two in the last five years as opposed to three of four years stipulated earlier.
