Football Kenya Federation has ended its kitting partnership with Mafro less than four months into their three-year engagement.

The move was occasioned by the Singaporean Sports Apparel Company’s inability to service their end of the bargain.

“The deal is off. We have terminated the contract as Mafro have not been able to service what they promised,” Nick Mwendwa, the FKF boss told Soka.co.ke.

In the agreement launched amid pomp and color on 22nd May in Nairobi, Mafro was to supply 600 pieces of kits to each of the national teams including Harambee Stars and Starlets and the age grade teams.

However, only Stars were sorted with the red home kit which they used in their AFCON qualifying tie away to Sierra Leone in Freetown on 10th June.

The unprecedented deal worth $750, 000 was hailed as a breakaway from one-off purchase of kits for the national teams which saw them don all sorts of brands.

Apart from Kenya, Mafro penned similar deals with Zambia, Sierra Leone and Zimbabwe FAs to kit their national teams.
