By Frederick Nadulli aka Razor,
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has ignominiously completed a coup d’etat and taken over the full management of the sport.
The Sam Nyamweya-led team held a Special General Meeting (SGM) today that came up with a raft of resolutions that will further muddy the waters and throw league football into total confusion and disarray.
The meeting, held at the Kakamega Golf Resort and attended by delegates, unanimously resolved that henceforth, the league shall be run and managed solely by the FKF.
“The previous mandate held by Kenyan Premier League (KPL) therefore stands revoked and withdrawn,” read part of the statement.
According to the press statement, the 2015 league shall comprise 18 teams and shall forthwith be renamed Football Kenya Federation Premier League. Participating clubs will benefit from an annual grant of Ksh.9 million.
The windfall will further trickle down to National League Clubs.
Reading the resolutions, FKF Vice President Robert Asembo pointed out that each FKF branch will receive grants totalling to Ksh.250,000 per year, besides the Federation catering for costs of match officials as well as hire of venues.

DARK DAYS ARE HERE
This new development comes in the wake of an impasse between FKF and KPL, both camps maintaining hardline positions and fighting for control of administration.
Interestingly, world governing body FIFA, after a series of talks with both sides, recommended a 16 team league to be managed by KPL.
Which begs the question, has FKF outgrown FIFA? Can they really go against the grain and defy FIFA? Are they operating at the behest of some powerful anonymous source? highly unlikely.
Credible sources indicate that MP & SILVA, the company at the centre of their brazen arrogance, is a mere brokerage firm doing the horse trading for the federation. Whats more, the list of delegates, as is more often the case, was doctored to suit the whims of certain dark forces. Going forward, this country should be spared deceit.
This team has outlived its usefulness,if they had any credibility in the first place .It is time for government interference and the inevitable FIFA ban. Sports Minister Hassan Wario has many a time threatened to go this route; waste no more time.
In hindsight, neighbours Ethiopia suffered the FIFA wrath and were banned for two years. The end result was a deserved place in the Africa cup of nations and qualification for the World cup 2014 playoffs. Kenya cannot dare imagine football under this regime.
Sam Nyamweya has gotten away with murder many a time. This year should be his waterloo.
