By Agnes Amondi,
World football governing body FIFA extended Football Kenya Federation (FKF) payment period by 30 days to compensate former Harambee Stars coach Adel Amrouche Ksh 109 Million for wrongful dismissal.
Further the federation has been slapped with a Ksh 4 million for failing to meet the original March 11 deadline.
Failure to meet the revised deadline will attract hefty sanctions from the Zurich based organisation including the possibility of being barred from the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers.
The committee held a meeting on Monday to evaluate the case after the Algerian-born Belgian coach won a dispute over unlawful dismissal against the FKF, but the federation has since appeared unwilling or unable to make the Sh109 million payment.
“FKF is directed to notify the secretariat to the Disciplinary Committee of every payment made and to provide the relevant proof of payment,” the FIFA Disciplinary Committee ordered.
