Former Indomitable Lions midfielder Onana Eloundou has passed away after a long battle with cancer.
The former Canon Sportiff de Younde player who starred for the Cameroon national team in the 1982 World Cup passed away on Monday morning.
His former team mate Michel Kaham confirmed his death on Facebook.
Nicknamed Panka, the former prison warden hang his boots in 1988 and later become a coaching instructor at Enap de Buea after spending several seasons with Canon Sportiff de Younde.
Panka, a Santos d’ Okola star from 1967-1969 was capped for over 30 times for Cameroon scoring several goals.
Most notably, he was one of Indomitable Lions’s stand-out performers in their 1984 African Cup of Nations triumph,providing several assists in the tournament.
