Detectives are seeking former Chippa United striker Masibusani Zongo in relation to a sexual assault that occurred four years ago.
Police have put out an All-Points Bullettin(APB) and are appealing for the public to come forward with information on the players whereabouts.
According to information released by the South African Police Service,Zongo commited the offence in early 2013.
“He is wanted for a rape case that was reported in February 2013 and a warrant for his arrest was issued‚” police said in a statement.
The Sowetan newspaper reported that Zongo was 24 years old but his age is listed as 26 on his soccer player profile‚ which registers his birthday as March 30‚ 1990.
The player is said to have left his National First Division side Royal Eagles in November last year under a cloud‚ after having previously played with Wits and Supersport United and even had a trial stint with English team Tottenham Hotspur.
