Former Uganda Cranes captain Geoffrey Massa is in stable condition after being shot at on Wednesday night.

According to reports by a Uganda’s leading television station NTV,Massa was shot at near his home by police in a road range incident.

Massa is said to have hit a police motorcycle before he spend off which forced police to shoot.

A woman he was with in his car died on spot in what reports say it was after a confrontation with police.

The former Cranes skipper is currently being attended at Gwatiro Clinic located in Bweyogerere suburb.

Massa retired from international football in March this year after steering Uganda Cranes into Africa Cup of Nations finals that was held in Gabon in January.

The former Baroka FC forward started his professional career at Police FC in 2004. Due to his glittering display, he landed a deal to join Al-Masry in 2005. Since then, he has played for several clubs; El-Shams, Jomo Cosmos, Itesalat, Yenicami Agdelen, University of Pretoria and Bloemfontein Celtic.
