Kaizer Chiefs have handed former Mamelodi Sundowns left back Mzikhayise Mashaba a trial with the team with a possibility of signing the defender.

Chiefs have confirmed reports that Mashaba is currently training at Naturena with a view to earning a move, as they look to bolster their defence ahead of the 2018/19 season.

The 29-year-old left-back is currently a free agent after being released from Chloorkop in September last year  for disciplinary reasons and life style issues, thus leading to Amakhosi first wanting to assess his fitness before offering him a deal.

Kaizer Chiefs Football Manager Bobby Motaung confirmed that the player is with the Naturena based outfit as he looks to reignite his professional football career.

With Mashaba currently being a free agent,the Naturena based outfit could look to add the player to their books before the transfer window close,if the player impresses Giovanni Solinas and his technical team.
