Francis Amin has been elected the new president of the South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) in today’s elections in Juba.
Amin, a businessman and a former board member of Altabara FC garnered 22 votes out of 34 to ward off competition from his two challengers Lual Maluk Lual and Arop Joh Aguer.
He succeeds embattled Chabur Goc Alei, who was barred from defending his seat for failing to meet eligibility criteria.
Benasio Amum upset Sestilio Juba Lerib to clinch the vice president position.
In other positions Maria Christopher and Mary Tokina was elected to the Women’s Football Committee as chairman and deputy respectively.
Atem Atem was elected chairman of the Referee’s Committee with James Amum as his deputy.
Abdulraham Rajab will chair the Coaches Committee and he will be assisted by Kon Akol.
