Gor Mahia Coach Frank Nuttall has hailed his half time magic which saw his charges return for the second half of the match against Tusker FC tails up. The Kenyan Premier League match was played on Sunday 25 at Moi Stadium, Kisumu.
K’Ogalo looked unsettled at the back in the first half of the explosive tie and time and again looked vulnerable each moment the Leonard Odipo side was on the ascendancy but all that changed in the second stanza.
“I’m very pleased to get another win. We fixed a few things at half time and spoke to a few individuals and after we had done that we came back stronger in the second half,” Nuttall told Soka25east.com.
Asked about what he actually fixed in the dressing room, the Scot decided to keep his tactics to himself saying that’s his secret but he added it worked very well for them.
“I’m happy they responded well. Michael Olunga took his chance really well and I’m happy for the three points and for the team as a whole.” He added.
Innocent Wafula was confined in his left back position after the breather sealing the loophole which the Brewers exploited fully in the first half each time he ventured forward with Ali Abondo being pushed forward to help in attack, a move which worked in their favor.
Olunga goal came in the 72nd minute off Karim Nzigiyimana tactfully taken cross from Ali Abondo’s pass to send the fully parked stadium into a frenzy. The goal is Olunga’s 17th three shy of leading top scorer Jesse Were of Tusker who experienced a drought today.
Gor play Western Stima on Wednesday 28 at the same venue before being handed the 2015 crown on the final day of the season against Muhoroni Young at Nyayo Stadium on November 1.
