Further details have emerged about the controversy surrounding Cameroonian player Franklin Bama Yangoua alias Francisco Obama Ondo who turns for the DR Congo giants AS Vita Club.
According to AS Vita Club versus Royal Leopards preliminary round, first leg match report, Francisco Obama Ondo registered his name on the score sheet, netting the golden goal that contributed in knocking out the Swaziland team from the Champions League this year.
Apart from that soka25east can now reveal that the player has also used three different ages according to bio-data that is contained on the CAF official website. His first profile indicate that he was born on 9th September 1996 with the second indicating that the player was born on 10th November 1996 and the third profile indicate that he was born on 16th May 1996.
Yangoua or Ondo, depending on which name suits your taste, provided an assist in the second goal during the return leg match where the Royal Leopards were demolished 3-1 by AS Vita.
Cases involving AS Vita Club players has been common in recent years. During 2016 Champions League,CAF was forced to act when Stade Malien FC from Mali presented a complain to CAF Organising Committee for Inter-clubs Competitions on the eligibility of Idrissa Traore .
Traore had played for the Malian club during the 2015 season and was handed a four match ban but only served one match. AS Vita went on fielded him after acquiring him in the preliminary round of 2016 CAF Champions League a matter that made the committee disqualify AS Vita and were replaced by Mamelondi Sundowns of South Africa who were the last opponent before the qualifying for the group stage.
Another case involving AS Vita was about a player by the name Taguy Agiti Etekiama alias Birori Dady in 2015.
His case was however detected earlier by CAF who banned the player indefinitely from all forms of football after being unmasked as a cheat who used a double identity.
The 28-year-old used a Congolese passport by the name Tady Agiti Etekiama, when he played for AS Vita in the Champions League that year, but then changed his name, and nationality, to Birori Dady, when he featured for Rwanda in the 2015 Nations Cup qualifiers. He also used two different ages on his Congolese and Rwandese identities.
Dady converted the priceless goal from the penalty spot, in the 38th minute, aganist Zimbabwean side Dynamos at the Father Raphael Stadium in Kinshasa in March that year which gave the Congolese giants a 1-0 aggregate victory in a Champions League first round showdown.
The case also resulted to elimination of Rwanda from Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers for fielding the controversial player.
However,Francisco Obama Ondo case remains diffrent as CAF and Royal Leopards Club have not yet detected the issue. It remains to be seen if CAF will investigate before the first round match where AS Vita Club are scheduled to face Gambia Ports Authority of Banjul.
