FT Congo 3-2 Ghana (Kintele Stadium)
Jordan Ayew’s extra minute strike rescued a win for Ghana’s Black Stars in a friendly match played on Tuesday, September 1 at the newly constructed Kintele Stadium in Congo Brazzaville.
The match which was attended by among others Congo’s President Denis Sassou Nguesso was used for the official opening of the 60,000 sitting capacity facility.
Sagesse Babele scored an own goal in the 17th minute to gift the visitors the lead before Daniel Nii Adjei doubled the lead two minutes later.
Ghana Coach Avram Grant made two substitutions early second half pulling out Daniel Nii Adjei for Jordan Ayew and Razak Braimah for Fatawu Dauda.
Sagesse made amends in the 54th minute firing one past Stars keeper Fatawu Dauda. Grant reacted by bringing into play Captain Asamoah Gyan in place of Bernard Mensah in the 73rd minute and Andrew Ayew in the 77th minute.
Hardy Binguila drew Congo level in the 91st minute before Aston Villa forward Jordn Ayew grabbed the last gasp winner.
The two teams also used the friendly as part of preparations for AFCON 2017 qualifier matches this weekend. Ghana takes on Rwanda away on Saturday 5, while Congo Brazzaville travels to Guinea Bissau.
