10 man simba yesterday held Yanga to a 1-1 draw in an ill tempered match marred by hooliganism at the National stadium in Dar es Salaam.
The draw pushes Simba further upfront to 17 points from seven matches while Yanga moves to 11 points after six matches
In the match ,Burundian Amis Tambwe scored early in the half before Ramadhan Shiza Kichuya cancelled the lead in the second half .Simba were reduced to 10 men after Jonas Mkude
The Burundian international scored after camera replays showed he got an assistance from the hand in the 26th minute.He received a long pass from Mbuyu Twite dodging himself past Simba defender Novat Lufunga before firing past Ivorian keepr Vincent Angban for a 1-0 lead.After the goal chaos erupted both at ther pitch and at the stands with simba players refusing to accept the goal.in the ensuing battle centre referee Saanya showed a straight red to Simba keeper Jonas Mkude prompting Simba fans to uproot plastic seats throwing at the pitch.The match was stopped for 5 minutes with the police claming the situation .
The Match resumed and no meaningful incidences with Simba resorting to long balls in search of an equalizer.
In the second half Simba started on a high prompting Yanga coach to introduce Andrew Vincent for Kelvin Yondani to strenthen the defence .
Simba coach Patrick Omog made a double subsitution in the 62nd minute bringing on Juuko Murshid for Lufunga Novat and Fredrick Blagnon for Laudit Mavugo.The subsitution almost paid off five minutes later when Juuko Murshid almost got an equalizer for Simba wghen his shot just went inches off the Yanga goal.
Simba made the last sunstitution bringing on Ibrahim Mohammed for Ajib while Yanga withdrew the services of Juma Mahadhi for Simon Msuva.
The moment of celebration for Simba fans came in the 87th minute when Kichuya Ramadhan’s corner went stsaight into the net
