The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has issued a statement to clarify the issue on their U20 side that played Rwanda .
A statement by the federation read in part “we would like to clarify on the matter that was brought to our attention by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) after Rwanda FA lodged a protest on the variation of birth dates of four players in the U-20 team.
FUFA has since responded to CAF’s request by providing a set of documents for the quartet of Frank Tumwesigye, Aheebwa James, Lwalirwa Halid and Kizza Martin.
Players eligible for this tournament must have been born on 1st January 1997 or after and all Ugandan players mentioned fall in this age group.
