The Three-Nation Tournament that is set for Uganda from March 17-21 has been postponed to March 24 ending on 28 March as they will await a report from CAF over the dates of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) that is scheduled to commence on April 4, 2020 in Cameroon.
Organizers of the tournament, the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has notified the participating teams that their decision will depend on what CAF will say on whether the CHAN will take place as scheduled or not.
Uganda the hosts, Mali and Zambia are Nations set to battle it out at Nambole Stadium in Kampala.
The Three-Nation tournament is part of the preparation for the countries, who are set to take part in the CHAN.
CAF has through its medical committee headed to Cameroon to ascertain the risk of the Coronavirus to the tournament with a report due after the inspection this weekend.
The World Health Organization has declared the Coronavirus a global pandemic but have not yet classed Africa as a high risky area.
Subsequently the games in Kampala will await an indication from CAF as all the teams are hoping to use the tournament to prepare for CHAN.
The preparatory tournament may be pushed further should the CHAN be postponed.
CAF has postponed the Cameroon 2021 AFCON qualifiers that were scheduled March 25-31 owing to the Coronavirus threat and are considering postponing the CHAN tournament to a later date.
