African cup of nations hosts Gabon have appointed former Spain coach Jose Antonio Camacho as head coach.
Camacho takes over from Portuguese Jorge Costa who was fired after a series of poor results.
The 61 year old has been handed the uphill task of leading the nation to their continental title in 39 days.
The former Real Madrid coach has previously coached Rayo Vallecano , Sevilla, Espanyol and Benfica with China national team being his last stint in Coaching in 2013.
The former Spain left back who signed a 2 year deal with the Gabon football federation will make his debut on the touchline for Gabon as they take on Guinea Bissau on the 14th of January and is also expected to guide the side to the 2018 World Cup in Russia
