Gabon must win their final Group A game on Sunday to be sure of progression to the last eight of their home 2017 Africa Cup of nations.

After successive draws, the tournament hosts know only victory will guarantee them a spot in the quarter-finals, while a third point could spell a premature exit.

The task is easier for Cameroon, who will reach the knockout stages if they avoid defeat in the capital city Libreville.

“I think the biggest error we could make would be to play for a draw,” Cameroon head coach Hugo Broos told soka25east.com.

“That is too dangerous. We will go out to win without doing anything stupid.”

Group A will go to the wire because all the four teams can still qualify for the next round. Gabon will have to dig deep if they are to beat the Indomitable Lions who sit on top of the group with four points.

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang has been the main man for coach Jose Luis Camacho’s side. The Borussia Dortmund striker has scored all of Gabon’s goals in the tournament so far (two) and will be the man to lead the attack once again.

The Panthers look shaky at the back and were lucky to get a point at the end against Burkina Faso. They will have to up their game against a strong Cameroon side who came from a goal behind to beat Guinea-Bissau 2-1 on Match Day 2.

Didier Ovono will once again man the sticks but will hope his defence are on top form against a pacy Cameroonian side who parade the likes of Clinton Njie, Vincent Aboubakar and Benjamin Moukandjo).

Tanjigora, Ecuele Manga and the rest of the Gabon defence have a herculean task ahead of them on Sunday at the Stade de L’Amitie in Libreville.

Possible line-ups

Gabon: Ovono; Ecuele, Appidangoye, Ze Ondo, Ngoauli, Evouna, N’Dong, Palun, Bouanga, Poko, Aubameyang.

Cameroon: Ondoa; Mabouka, Teikeu, Ngadeu, Oyongo, Njie, Moukandjo, Bassogog, Zoua, Mandjeck, Siani.
