German football manager Hans Michael has been appointed as the new Vital’O Coach.

51-year old Hans penned a deal with the Bujumbura heavyweights this week that keeps him at the reigning Burundi Champions for the next two years.

The former Rwanda technical director, Philippines and Otelul Galati gaffer takes over from Etienne Ndayiragije who relegates to the assistant role in the new order.

It is Etienne who guided Vital to their twentieth league title on the bounce in the just ended 2015/16 season in a spectacular fashion – winning twenty four, losing four and drawing two, amassing seventy four points with a goal difference of a whopping 54.

Hans holds bachelor’s degree in sports science and management from University of Mainz. The West German born former goalkeeper does not have a glittering coach career – his notable achievement being taking Philippines to their highest ever FIFA Ranking, 127.

In June 2014 he took over at former Romanian champions Otelul Galati. He was sacked only three months later after a single win in seven games.

His immediate focus will be guiding Vital’O to the President’s Cup glory as well as preparing them for the CECAFA Kagame Cup next month.
