GHANA BRUSH ASIDE GUINEA TO BOOK SEMIS DATE WITH HOSTS

By Fredrick Nadulli aka Razor,

Ghana 3-0 Guinea

Ghana had little trouble sailing into the semi finals with an easy stroll past Guinea in Malabo. On a humid night in the capital,Guinea were always the mouse to Ghana’s cat as the Black Stars demonstrated the huge gulf that exists between the two West African sides.

Christian Atsu fired them ahead on three minutes, tapping in a cheeky backheel from Andre Ayew.Kwesi Appiah punished some slack defensive work to double their advantage a minute before the break.Everton winger Atsu got his second and Ghana’s third, turning defender Paye Tamsir inside out before curling in from the edge of the box on the hour mark.
Avram Grant’s men slackened their pace and had time to showboat,Ayew and Baba Rahman the main actors.
Goalkeeper Naby Yattara was sent off deep into stoppage time for a deadly tackle on Asamoah Gyan as the Syli Nationale bowed out.Ghana play Equatorial Guinea in the semis.
