Ghana coach, Otto Addo is buoyant ahead of their important against Uruguay and he hs confident the Black Stars will emerge as winners against Uruguay on Friday.
Ghana sit pretty at 2nd with three points in Group H and they will wrap up their group phase games against the two-time world champions at the Al Janoub Stadium.
Speaking at the press conference on Thursday, the Borussia Dortmund talent coach reiterated that the South Americans will attack them but he remains confident of a win.
“They have to win and I don’t think they have a choice, and I know they will attack and so we will prepare for everything,” Addo said.
“We will make use of the gaps and I know it will be a tough game but I am confident of a win,” he added.
Asked if Mohamed Kudus would emerge as one of the best players in the tournament , Otto Addo was forthright “Kudus is a good player and we are happy for him but for now that is not the issue we are playing as a team and that is what is important in ensuring we get the important win”he added
Deputy skipper Thomas Partey echoed his coach’s sentiments saying “we have prepared well and are ready to face Uruguay who are a very strong side.We remain optimistic of getting good results but we know it will not be a walk in the park we will have to work together as a team”he said
The Black Stars, who are making their fourth appearance at the global showpiece need a draw or a win to progress to the last 16 of the tournament.
