Ghana Skipper who doubles up as Turkish side Kayserispor forward Asamoah Gyan has announced his shock retirement from international football.
The 33 year old decided to call time on his national team career after it was reported that Coach Kwesi Appiah was set to name Andre Ayew as the new captain of Black Stars ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Grapevine is rife that a furious Gyan confronted Kwesi Appiah over the matter which resulted in a serious altercation.
Following the latest development, the striker took to official twitter account to make the announcement.
Gyan remains Ghana’s all-time top scorer with 51 goals from 106 international games.
