By Bonface Osano,
Gor Mahia are on the verge of signing Enoch Agwanda who is a free agent after his contract at Sofapaka ended weeks ago.
The talks are almost complete with the only contention being the length of the contract, Agwanda wants a one year contract while club chairman Ambrose Rachier is insisting on at least a two year deal Soka25east.com can exclusively reveal.
Agwanda has enjoyed a fairly good run at Sofapaka since joining from Sony Sugar FC, winning the GOTV Shield cup last year .
It is not the first time “K’Ogalo” is seeking his signature, more than once Gor Mahia has tried to sign the storky striker known for his trade mark strong throw ins to no avail, as his former employer has always put a huge price tag on him.
In another transfer news, Paul Were will pen a one year deal at Gor Mahia . This move was first reported by Soka25east.com a few weeks ago, and we can today reveal that the deal is as good as done.
The player had wished for a shorter six months deal but once again Gor Mahia management had their way pushing the player to a year deal. Were was formerly with Amazulu in the South African League but he mutually agreed to terminate his three years contract after the team was relegated in the just concluded season. Were has also played for Gor’s sworn rivals AFC Leopards and Tusker FC.
The two acquisitions will no doubt boost Gor’s already strong squad as they prepare for another bite at the league title and a possible CECAFA Kagame Cup title in July.
