15-times Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia are close to sealing a kitting deal with Italian sporting apparel company Macron.
Officials of the club are expected to travel to Bologna, Italy this week to put ink to paper on the unpreceded contract at the 49-year-old club.
“We should have new kits before we meet Tusker,” one of the officials who will make the trip told Soka25east.com.
“They sent us samples of what they have and we recommended to them the adjustments we want on the final product,” the official added.
Gor, currently top of the KPL after 5 rounds of fixtures, will host defending champions Tusker FC in their next match in Naivasha this coming weekend.
K’Ogalo, as Gor are famously known, have never had a kitting partner and are known to use all sorts of brands available.
If the deal materializes, the club will benefit from sale of replica jerseys to fans. At the moment all kinds of unsanctioned replica jerseys are in the market with the club losing out on a critical source of revenue.
Macron, founded in 1971 has a solid presence in the African market with Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca being one of their clients.
In the Zambian Super League, they were recently unveiled as Napsa Stars’ technical sponsor.
Macron also kitted Egyptian side Zamalek SC up-to the end of last season.
At the national team level, they kit the Sparrow Hawks of Togo.
