Sportpesa Premier League champions Gor Mahia FC have confirmed a landmark sponsorship deal with sports betting firm Sportpesa.
The deal announced by club chairman Ambrose Rachier at the club secretariate on Tuesday afternoon will run for the next 5 years.
“For two and a half years we have been refered to as the broke Gor Mahia in many quarters. But today, Gor Mahia FC one of the oldest and most successful club in Kenya is delighted to anniunce a landmark 5yr sponsorship deal with Sportpesa.
“This is part of Spotrtspesa’s commitment to football develpment in the country and a goal to help see Kenya take part in the world cup.
“The deal will cover payment of player salaries, world class player recruitment and official kitting.” said Rachier.
The chairman however did not disclose any further details of the deal with the official unveiling date to be announced later.
The Sportpesa deal becomes Gor Mahia’s first since the March 2013 when the TUZO deal expired.
