By Bonface Osano,
Gor Mahia patron who is also the immediate former Prime Minister of Kenya Hon Raila Odinga will on Sunday 17th preside over the launch of Gor Mahia Savings and Credit Cooperative (SACCO) at Nyayo Stadium. The development was confirmed by Gor’s deputy secretary general Naima Oketch.
The highly anticipated event will precede Gor’s KPL fixture against Nakuru All Stars at 3PM.
The launch of the SACCO comes barely a month after Mr. Odinga unvailed the now famous Gor Mahia Bread in Kisumu in a sponsorship deal that will see K’Ogalo earn a shilling per loaf of bread sold by Good bread company. All these are geared towards self sustainability of a club that has over the years struggled financially and failed to reach it’s full potential.
Above all the SACCO will go along way in empowering the members (Gor fans) financially through various development products the movement will offer.
Fans will register to be members of the SACCO via mobile phone paybill number 897260 and one must have national identity card as requirement. The SACCO offices will be located at Finance House Loita Street Nairobi.
