After dropping from the CAF Champions League competition, Gor Mahia Fc of Kenya host New Star de doula of Cameroon Tomorrow, Sunday at the Moi International Stadium, Kenya.
The Kenyan Premier League champions lost the play off game to get into the CAFCL group stages to Lobi stars based on away goal rule, and have also New star Fc to take away to get into the CAF Confederation Cup group phase.
Ahead of the Fixture with this Cameroonian team, Soka25east.com correspondent, Timothy Dehinbo had a candid pre-match chat with Gor Mahia coach Hassan Oktay.
Speaking exclusively to Soka25east, Coach Oktay said he will be missing two of his most important players captain Harun Shakava and Joash Onyago due to suspension from CAF something that has not gone down well with coach Oktay.
“I am going to miss two of my good players, who I think were wrongly suspended by CAF due to the circumstances that prevailed on that day against Lobi Stars but my team has moved on anyway and we are focused on the next one” Coach Oktay said.
“We did a training session on friday, myself and the players, and the coaching staff are ready, and we’re looking forward to this game, and with our home advantage, we’re going to take the positive side.”
Speaking further he said:
“Our preparation, has been very good, what is important, is that we’ve got confederation cup experience very well, and I believe we are going to get a good result this Sunday”
Gor Mahia look the favourite to get it done over two legs, but they must take the advantage of playing at home on Sunday seriously, so as to make the step into the group phase easy.
