AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia lost to KCB FC and Nzoia Sugar FC respectively in midweek matches played on Wednesday 15th May. For Mighty Kogalo it was even more painful as they will have to wait until the weekend derby against bitter arch Rivals Ingwe to know if they will be crowned the KPL champions.
KCB FC 1-0 AFC Leopards
Kennedy Owino’s strike in the 37th minute was all the Bankers needed to edge a hard-fighting Ingwe at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
Nzoia Sugar FC 1-0 Gor Mahia
Nzoia edged Gor Mahia by a similar scoreline in an entertaining match played at the Mumias Sports Complex. Hansel Ochieng scored the all-important goal in the 34th minute.
Sony Sugar FC 2-0 Kariobangi Sharks
Sony Sugar comfortably saw off Kariobangi Sharks 2-0 in an early kick off match played at the Green Stadium in Awendo.
Salmon Omollo opened the scoring in the 2nd minute and Enock Agwanda doubled the lead in the 84th second to ensure the Sugar Millers grab the maximum points.
Zoo FC 2-1 Western Stima
Zoo registered an important 2-1 win over Western Stima in a match played at the Green Stadium in Kericho. The home side scored through Derick Anami and Danson Chetambe while Stima got a consolation from Maurice Ojwang.
