Gor Mahia have moved up to second in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) after defeating Bandari FC 3-0 on Saturday.
Goalkeeper David Mapigano, Michael Apudo, and Kennedy Otieno struck a goal each to help the team bag a vital win at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.
The Dockers were punished in the 10th minute when David Mapigano spotted his opposite number Justin Ndikumana out of position, and the latter could not keep the ball off target.
K’Ogalo doubled their advantage in the stroke of half-time through an excellent counter-attack which was neatly converted by debutant Michael Apudo to ensure the hosts go into the break with a two-goal advantage.
It was the 18-time champions who got a third in the 68th minute courtesy of Kennedy Otieno who managed to beat the goalkeeper from close range to seal the win.
The result moved K’Ogalo to 38 points, a point less than leaders Kakamega Homeboyz who beat Kariobangi Sharks 2-1.
