Gor Mahia hopes of qualifying for the Orange Caf champions league was dealt a big blow as they were ripped apart by Esperance losing 5-0 in Tunis as the game ended on a 8-2 aggregate one of their worst loses in a long time.
Heitem Jouiwi’s hatrick in the 44th ,48th and 56th minute inspired the Tunisians who began the game like a house on fire .The first half was a see saw affair as both sides failed fought gallantly to get the opener bu the game went into the break at 0-0.
However upon resumption Esperance game back guns blazing as they fired from all cylinders with Jouiwi the man who also scored in Nairobi scoring three goals in less than 11 minutes.
Ghanain Harrison Aful and Idriss Mhriss added the other goals in the 54th and 74th minutes of the game as Gor Mahia defence tumbled from the marauding Esperance attackers.
Gor Mahia lost 2-3 a week ago in Nairobi and were expected to give the same perfomance which they failed to match. The game scheduled for Sunday was postponed to Monday after heavy rains made it impossible for the game to be started.
Gor Mahia qualified for the second round after beating Gabonese team US Bitam 4-2 through post match penalties.
