After a successful trip to Ethiopia where Sportpesa Premier League reigning champions Gor Mahia won a friendly match against a top side St. Georges, the team will be hitting the run way again to Sudan tonight (11pm) to play two friendly matches against two top sides – Al Hilal and Al Khartoum.
Gor Mahia team manager Jolawi Obondo exclusively shared their traveling plans with the official Gor website.
“We have been invited to play two high profile friendly matches against Al Hilal and Al Khartoum. We are leaving tonight and our first match will be on Wednesday and the second one most probably on Saturday,” said Jolawi.
Head coach Frank Nuttall appreciated the kind of teams he is facing in pre-season though he wasn’t so impressed about missing players.
“Like St. George, Al Hilal and Al Khartoum are the type of teams that I want to play in preparation for the season ahead. Unfortunately, some players are still missing,” Nuttall told Gor Mahia website.
Despite missing about eight key players in Ethiopia against St. Georges, Gor pulled a win with a second string team.
All these are efforts to have some good preparation ahead of the busy year where the team is keen to replicate last year’s performance.
