Gor Mahia have moved closer to capturing the signature of Rwandese midfielder Jean-Baptiste Mugiraneza.
According to reliable sources the former Azam FC defensive midfielder arrived in Nairobi on Thursday and is beleived to have met K’Ogalo officials and will soon be switching to the fifteen times Kenya Premier League champions.
Replacing Sibomana
Mugiraneza who has earned several caps with Amavubi will be replacing his fellow Rwandese Abouba Sibomana who is heading back to his former side Rayon Sports FC of Rwanda having failed to impress Gor’s techinical bench during the just ended season.
Mugiraneza is currently a free agent after being released by Azam FC and is seen as the possible candidate to fill the void left by Khalid Aucho who left K’Ogalo struggling after moving to Baroka FC in South Africa
Gor Mahia finished second in 2016 SportPesa Premier League something that has made the club coach focus on positioning himself to strengthen his squad ahead of next season.
Five foreign players quota
The Rwadese International will join his fellow countrymen Jacques Tuyisenge, Meddie Kagere if the talks succeed.Ugandan Godfrey Walusimbi and Burudian Karim Nzigiyimana are the other foreign players in the squad, with that putting it clear that Sibomana will definetly be offloaded from the squad to give space for a new signing.
