An Ephrem Guikan brace ensured Kenyan Premier league defending champions walloped visiting Young Africans(Yanga) 4-0 in a one sided affair played at the Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi in a CAF Confederation Cup group phase game.

Gor Mahia came into the game breathing fire from the onset as they pushed Yanga on their own half when  In the seventh minute, neat interplay between midfielder Humphrey Mieno and  Jacques Tuyisenge saw the latter flick the ball in the direction of the lurking Guikan but it never got to the target since it was intercepted and shepherded back to Jehu by a retreating Yanga defender.

Jacques Tuyisenge found acres of space in the 21st minute then sent the home side into raptures when he side-footed in the opener from close range.

The hosts continued to pile pressure  and in the 45th minute they went 2-0 ahead  when Humphrey Mieno collected a neat pass  from Francis Kahata in midfield and threaded a peach of pin-point through pass to Guikan who advanced unchallenged in the box to beat Jehu in Yanga’s goal.

The second half was no different as Kogalo continued to dominate the visitors and in the  60th Gor Mahia  were 3-0 up when Yanga’s  Mwinyi Haji scored an own goal.

Guikan put matters beyond Yanga when he scored a screamer to give Kogalo the forth goal to seal a deserved win.

Despite the win Gor Mahia remain second in Group D behind Algerian side USM Alger who forced another win against Rayon Sport in Kigali.
