Gor Mahia midfielder Ali Hassan Abondo is in South Africa trying out with ABSA Premiership side Ajax Cape Town.
The 26-year old attacking midfielder, celebrated for his free kick prowess, has been missing in K’Ogalo’s pre season training; he was loudly absent in Gor’s 1-0 loss to Bandari in the DSTV Super Cup over the weekend.
Abondo netted 11 times for Gor in the 2015 Kenyan Premier League, helping the Kenyan giant to a third consecutive title, without losing a single match. He is part of Gor’s squad for continental assignment starting this coming weekend.
Ajax, formed in 1999 are the the reigning MTN 8 champions, they play their matches at the 55,000 capacity Cape Town Stadium.
The team is part of the wider AFC Ajax of Holland, worldwide talent feeder network.
