Gor Mahia’s Michael Olunga Primed for Kenya Footballer of the year award as categories shortlist named

The final shortlist of five nominees for the various categories of the 2015 Kenyan Premier League/Sports Journalists Association of Kenya Footballer of The Year Awards were named on Monday in Nairobi

SportPesa Premier League top scorer Jesse Were of Tusker and his runner up Gor Mahia’s Michael Olunga both remained in the running for the best player award, as well as Bernard Mang’oli (AFC Leopards), Karim Nizigiyimana (Gor Mahia) and Ebrimah Sanneh (City Stars).

One will be named the season’s Most Valuable Player on Wednesday night at Safari Park hotel in Nairobi during the KPL Gala and walk away with a cool Sh1million in prize money.

The Coach of the Year will be contested between Frank Nuttall (Gor Mahia), Robert Matano (Ulinzi Stars), Twahir Muhiddin (Bandari), Paul Nkata (Muhoroni Youth) and Ken Kenyatta (Ushuru)
