Gor SG vows to continue his duties as he levels claims of embezzlement against Club chairman Rachier

Gor Mahia Secretary General Sammy Ochola has vowed to carry on his duties, a day after the club’s chairman Ambrose Rachier suspended him over the ‘illegall’ signing of the Startimes broadcast deal with FKF.

In a press statement released on Wednesday evening, he disregarded the letter and pointed out that Rachier is in no position to take such decisions as he (Ochola) was elected unopposed during the August 8th polls.

“I disregard that letter and treat it with utmost contempt since the chairman and Executive Committee can only take such actions and resolutions passes at the Special General Meeting (SGM) or AGM,” read the statement in part.

“I am not a Rachier or EC appointee, I was elected overwhelming, in fact unopposed,”

“I will continue to discharge my duties as the SG of Gor Mahia. I want to assure the club and our fans that I will work with everybody for the good of the club anytime locally and internationally” he averted.

He also levelled accusations of embezzlement of funds against Rachier and put him to task to explain how the monies allocated to the club were used.

“That between 1st and 4th September 2020, cash withdrawals of up to Ksh 20.5 million was made from two Gor Mahia accounts, yet as the EC and secretariat were not party to it.”

Signing of the Startimes Media contract

Ochola admitted to signing the document. He took the decision “in good faith and in fairness to the club.” Also, “guided under articles 2 (b), 11 (a), 19, 79 (a) (c) 81 of the FKF constitution.”

Further he rubbished claims of being coerced to pen a signature on the deal.

“Yes, I did sign the document. We’ve had numerous discussions on this matter at the executive members meeting, where we resolved to align the club to the newly created FKF premier (Bet King) League”
