Nzoia United upset Posta Rangers 1-0 to advance to the second round. After a barren first half, Mark Barasa scored the only goal which separated the two sides with a 55th minute strike. Playing with a youthful and inexperience team , Nzoia started well forcing a second minute corner which Ian Otieno in the Rangers goal dealt with well. Both teams created goal scoring chances in the opening encounter but Rangers were the more guilty side miss most clear cut opportunity and the first half ended in a barren draw.
Come the second half, United pushed well and were rewarded with the youngster heading home the only goal of the match. After that, Rangers did their best to get back into the match but despite their good efforts it did not work. AFC wins. Substitute Lamine Diallo scored late AFC Leopards’ blushes against Wazito FC in their GOtv Shield Round of 32 clash at Kasarani Stadium, Saturday afternoon. Joakim Omollo had put wizito in the lead early in the second half after a barren opening interval, slotting past Lucas Indeche to give the University side an advantage. The winners were reduced to ten men from the 62nd minute after Edwin Wafula was sent off.
Leopards coach Zdravko Logarusic then introduced victor Omune for Duncan Otieno and Lamine Diallo for Solomon Nasio and in a move that payed off with bringing some stability in the team. Dennis Dodi scored the equalizer after being fed by Michael Khamati.
Then Diallo another second half substitute ensured Leopards advanced to the second round with a last minute goal. At Moi Stadium in Kisumu, Bandari ripped Bondo United 3-0 with goals from Musa Mudde, Lawrence Kasadha and Victor Ndinya. GOtv Shield Saturday results
